DYNFARI // SEM SKUGGINN // 2012 ALBUM REVIEW

DYNFARI // SEM SKUGGINN // 2012 ALBUM REVIEW

WRITTEN BY: AR

GENRE: Atmospheric/Post-Black Metal

Dynfari is a Black Metal band from Iceland / Reykjavík, they released their first "Self-titled" album on July 7th of 2011 only 50 copies were made for that release, hopefully soon they will be annouching the release of their second full length album "Sem Skugginn" which is a must listen.

The first track to start this record off with is "Glötun"and is by far my favourite track on this LP, it's just so relaxing, i can't explain it as i keep repeating that one song all over again, it fills this hole deep inside my heart that just makes everything sound and feel so right, its just so amazing, 10 out of 10 i must say, but so on.

And then there's "Augnablik" you know when you're on drugs and you start to hallucinate things, all of a sudden the sky starts to move backwards and some of those trees start talking to each other about how you're trippin balls, well that's what happens when you hear the first part of "Augnablik" up until you wake up on the floor haha, it's rad how Dynfari can just write a trippy intro in less than two minutes or so.

"Sem Skugginn I" took my breath away, and gave it back within that second of air, i love everything about this song, its perfect if you're into that post/black metal genre.

enough is enough.
Dynfari's sophomore release "Sem Skugginn" is a must buy.
if you're into black metal music then please check these dudes out
either way just buy their record when you spot it in a record store or even just online

SUDDEN WEATHER CHANGE - SCULPTURE - 2012 ALBUM REVIEW

SUDDEN WEATHER CHANGE / SCULPTURE / 2012 ALBUM REVIEW

WRITTEN BY: AR

GENRE: Experimental Rock / Indie Rock

First there was Sudden Weather Change
01 Sudden Weather Change (EP)
02 Stop Hand Grenade In The Name of Crib Death 'Nderstand? (LP)
03 The Thin Liner (7 Inch Vinyl)
04 Varrior (EP)
05 SWC gho stigital (Split EP)

and as always these guys suprise us with more as they suprised us with their newest release
"SCULPTURE" and it's featured first track is "Weak Design" it's honest and well preserved as the starting track on Sculpture and i'd diggin' the vibe and is the whole album vibe'is in that matter so on the album goes on i find "The Blues" being the most experimental song on this vibe with SWC. its really catchy and well really fucking great haha fuck me this is perfection to my ears!

If i were to be sent to hell and would only get to hear the radio for 6 minutes i would and for i could only pick one song to listen to it would def be "Proper Flavor" cause really good and if you would get trippy and lose your mind, to this song if so then you would be in for a treat haha, i've been waiting for this record ever since i heard "Stop Hand Grenade In The Name Of Crib Death ‘Nderstand" but otherwise great feature haha.

I've got to say listening to this album in one great experience helped me out alot! but i'm not done yet i think, there's one more song i must speak of which is "Early Words" which is the final track on Sculpture and is in my favourites since they put the indie rock into the sound and it's fantastic, atleast for fans of (Radiohead) / (and some other band's too) mostly Radiohead it's the vibe people need to feel good about themselves when they wake up or get out of work just so they can grab their Sculpture copy and listen to it with some spirit of chill, Early Words is the greatest song to be ever recorded and i'm blessed to own a cope of Sculpture and i hope that once they get their's everything will be just fine.

Truth be told i have never heard Sudden Weather Change sound so mellow at all as this new record is rather throws out all of the heavy in them as i would guess they've become more then they were some years ago with their previous release "VARRIOR (EP)" final release by them through Kimi Records and well i'm diggin' this movement they're making for the people who needs this new kind of genre through the newly unsigned icelandic rock band "SUDDEN WEATHER CHANGE" with their fourth release their sophomore album "SCULPTURE" and i'm pretty sure people will enjoy this record, if you ever consider visiting iceland then i'd suggest  you checking out of our stores here in reykjavík, you might be as lucky as me when i got to buy their mellow record.
